Don't Lose The Plot

edited and revised. Now that I am writing my new novel, Tuesday's Child, I want to finish the first draft as quickly as possible. I don't plan to edit and revise until I complete it. However, since I'm writing so quickly I'm afraid of losing the plot, so I've decided to backtrack and record the main events in each chapter. This means that even if I resist the temptation to edit and revise I need to read what have written and make a few notes. If anyone else I meet implies that writing is easy or that it is a nice little hobby I'll want to strangle the person.

On Writing Monday's Child

Another 6,000 words or less to write and I will finish Monday's Child the follow on novel to my traditional Regency Novel Sunday's Child published by MuseItUp Publishing.

I wrote the first draft of Chapter Twenty-Nine, a crucial chapter, from the heroine's point of view. I revised it, edited it and realised part of it needed to be from the hero's viewpoint. I've finished the chapter and think it works much better.

A little more research and then I can write Chapter Thirty. Phew!

Plotting and Rewriting Novels

 

Now, to introduce myself. Most of all I enjoy time spent with family and friends. However, I have other interests. I am a published historical novelist. I enjoy writing and reading historical fiction and non-fiction as well as visiting exhibitions and places of historical interest.

 

I am a keen organic gardener growing at least 60% of my own herbs, fruit and vegetables which I put to good use in my organic kitchen.

 

If I have any spare time I enjoy knitting, sewing and dabbling in arts and crafts.
